The Government has set up a task force to coordinate all the preventive measures against atypical pneumonia, according to a Chief Executivie Order issued on 29 March.
The task force is headed by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Chui Sai On, with members from Health Bureau, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Social Welfare Institute, Fire Brigade (Emergence Center), Civic Municipal Affairs Bureau, Government Information Bureau and Government Tourist Office.
The task force held its first meeting today (3 April), during which members reported works of the departments to which they belong.
In order to get the updated information, the task force has been keeping contact with the WHO (World Health Organization), Ministry of Health and neighboring regions closely. Should any atypical pneumonia case be found in Macao, the task force will set up a 24-hour control center immediately, at the same time inform the WHO and Ministry of Health, and request a team of experts for support.
Under the instruction of WHO, patient should be admitted to hospital for isolation and treatment.
No atypical pneumonia is found in Macao up to this point, meanwhile, the authority has made and promoted a string of preventive measures in order to avoid the spread of atypical pneumonia in the terrority.
