Chief Executive Edmond Ho stressed that the Macao Health Bureau had prepared effective measures to prevent atypical pneumonia from spreading, even though no case was found in Macao until now.
He said that the government is intensely concerned with the situation and appealed to the public for taking adequate prevention measures.
He reaffirmed that no case was found in Macao so far, according to government health bureau, although the possibility could not be ruled out because Macao was closely related to Guangdong and Hong Kong.
He stressed that Macao maintained close association and connection with health authorities of the state, Guangdong Province and Hong Kong.
He restated that Macao government would give the best to cure any sufferer if anyone in Macao should have contracted atypical pneumonia.
He also said that medical providers in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao could maintain frequent connections, in complement to the official disease notification system.
