Government agencies today (28 Mar.) step up in the preventive actions against Atypical Pneumonia including disinfections and propagating information and facts about preventing the disease.
The Health Bureau and the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau today held a press joint press conference on the preventive measures taken against the atypical pneumonia.
The Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau will start disinfecting recreational and tourist spots, library and other public places in the city. Other government department will take the same measures on the public venues under their management.
Meanwhile, the Health Bureau would also step up on propagating information and facts relevant to the prevention of the disease.
The Director of the Health Bureau, Koi Kuoc Ieng said that a coordination mechanism had been set up among departments, and a set of emergency procedures was drawn up.
He emphasized that there were enough medication to cope with any situation that may arise, and the Government would allocate extra fund if necessary.
No case had been found in Macao up to this point, according to Mr. Koi.
He said that the authority would follow the WHO guideline about the disease, and that residents would not be restricted to staying in Macao and inbound tourists would not be obliged to declare their health condition.
