Crime investigation units of Macao, Guangdong and Hong Kong today (26 Mar) have their sixth regular meeting in Macao, with the agenda of preventing and combating cross-boundary crimes.
The Assistant of the Commissioner General of Unitary Police Service, who headed the Macao delegation, Cheang Seng Chio said after the meeting that the law enforcers from the three places had discussed several issues like the strategies in combating cross-boundary drug-trafficking.
Mr Cheang said that they also went over the issue of anti-territorism during the meeting and that Macao would shortly establish an anti-territorism information exchanging mechanism with its counterparts.
They also reviewed tripartite operations carried out in the past, and argeed that such system would continue in the future.
The Guangdong and Hong Kong delegations were lead by Deputy Director of Guandong Public Security Department, Mr Zheng Dong and the Assistant Commissioner of the Hong Kong Police (Crime), Mr Lo Yik Kee respectively.
The tripartite meeting of Crime Investigation Units of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao is a semestral annual event during which heads of crime investigation units of the three places exchange views on strategies against corss-boundary crimes. Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will take turns to host the meeting. The first meeting was held in Guangzhou in August 2000, the second meeting was held in Hong Kong in March 2001 and the third meeting was held in Macao in September 2001.
The next meeting will be held in September in Guangdong province.
