Staffs Attending Isolation Wards Well Protected

Director of Conde S. Januario Hospital, Dr. Lei Chin Ion said today that staffs working in the isolation care unit were properly trained and protected so it is not necessary to isolate them.

According to relative guidelines, Dr. Lei said, mandatory isolation were not necessary for staffs attending isolation wards under proper protection, and our staffs were carefully guarded with proper and enough protective gears.

However, the hospital also provided dormitory if the staff preferred not to go home when off-duty.

He explained that there were eating area, changing rooms and bathrooms in the isolation care unit so attending staffs did not need to leave the unit when they were on duty.

Dr. Lei also said that currently staffs attending the isolation care unit changed shift every 8 hours, or more often if the hospital sees the needs to relieve stress put on the staffs. If any confirmed case was recognized, they would be given special holidays after a certain period of work, so as to get enough rest.

He also said that should any staff be infected because of work, the hospital would take relevant responsibility and provide compensation.
