Executive Council Spokesman, Tong Chi Kin stressed that the two hospitals in Macao have taken sufficient preventive and preparative measures against atypical pneumonia so the public needed not be panic even if such cases should arise.
Mr. Tong said that prevention of the disease was on the agenda of the Executive Council meeting today (25 Mar).
He said that the MSAR Health Bureau had released to the public guidelines on prevention of the disease when cases of atypical pneumonia were found in neighboring regions, adding that the two hospitals and the Health Bureau had been working intensly on prevention of the disease and preparations for emergency.
He conveyed the Government’s call on the public, including public agencies, schools and organizations to follow the Health Bureau’s guideline and take preventions against the disease.
He emphasized that the public should be careful on personal hygiene and health.
