A Macao SAR official delegation will start a fact-finding visit to Las Vegas and San Franciso tomorrow (8 March), in the aim of enriching members’ knowledge on the development of gaming and tourism sectors in the United States.

Secretary for Economy and Finance, Francis Tam who heads the delegation said that they would visit the casinos operated by Wynn resort and Vanitian in Las Vegas, and would then be introduced to their future development and plannings.

The Macao SAR has granted the gaming concessions to Wynn Resorts(Macao) Limited and the Galaxy Casino Company Limited in 2002.

When asked about the four-day recruitment fair held by The Venetian Macau, Mr Tam said that it proved that the company was willing to employ the local residents and has confidence in their ability, adding that the Government would provide training.

The delegation, which consists of members of the Executive Council and legislators, will also visit resorts, hotels, casinos, and convention centers in Las Vegas.
