The International Law Office launched this week a public consultation on the draft of the Hague Convention on International Jurisdiction and Foreign Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters.
This is the first time that the Macao government uses the Internet as a mean for public consultation, in a way to increase the transparency of the process and collect a wide public opinion. Thus, the interested public in the subject can access to the MSAR web site: http://www.macau.gov.mo.
The Hague Conference on Private International Law is working on a draft of a worldwide convention concerning the jurisdiction of courts and aimed at facilitating recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters among the States, which are parties of it.
The objective of the draft convention is to increase the legal certainty and security of the jurisdictional solutions at an international level.
The additional documentation concerning this draft convention can be found in the following website: www.hcch.net/e/workprog/jdgm.html
