Guangdong and Macau cooperation liaison group decided on establishing ad hoc committees for various affairs in its first meeting today (25).
It is the first meeting of the liaison group after its establishment on the 21 this month.
The delegations were headed by the Chief of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Guangdong Provincial Government, Huang Zi Qiang and Chief-of-cabinet of the office of Chief Executive Ho Veng On.
During the meeting, the group decided on setting up ad hoc committees for affairs in economy, tourism, infrastructure and environmental protection, so as to concrete the cooperation between Guangdong and Macau.
Topics such as the exploitation of Hengqin Island, establishment of a bonded zone for export-geared manufacturing near Gaolon Port were also discussed in the meeting.
The liaison group, which was established to facilitate the economic, educational and cultural ties between the two places, will hold at least one meeting each year.
