Macau and Portugal signed a general agreement on cooperation on 24 May, strengthening the bilateral cooperation.
Chief Executive Edmund Ho and Portuguese Foreign Minister Jaime Gama signed the agreement on behalf of the two governments.
In accordance with the agreement, officials and members from organizations of the two places will hold regular meetings to exchange opinions and to enhance the cooperation in the field of culture, finance, science and public order.
Gama said that the Portugal Government has maintained a good relationship with Macau since its establishment. This relationship, which will be strengthening in the future, facilitates the contacts between Macau SAR Government and the European Unions.
Gama had a working luncheon with Mr. Ho at the Government Headquarters. Afterwards, he attended the reception and met with the members of the Portuguese community.
