To foster green co-operation and consolidate the new “industry + MICE” development model, the Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) has established a platform for international environmental exchanges and co-operation for exhibitors and trade visitors at home and abroad through Green Matching. In 2023, 398 business matching sessions took place during the exhibition period, representing a 13% increase from 2019 when COVID pandemic had not yet hit the city. This year, MIECF will again host themed business matching sessions on Macao-Hengqin Synergy Business Matching on Environmental Protection, SME Environmental Procurement from Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises, Big Health Green Supply Chain, Green Technology and Carbon Trading, and International Green Energy, to promote the green and low-carbon development and transformation of the “1+4” key industries and to leverage MIECF’s role as an international professional platform for environmental protection.

Themed business matching sessions on diverse topics to help find potential international business opportunities in the environmental sector

MIECF arranges themed business matching sessions every year to effectively uncover green business opportunities. These sessions focus on issues such as business matching on environmental protection between public institutions in Macao and  Hengqin, Portuguese-speaking countries, procurement by integrated tourism and leisure enterprises, green finance, green and sustainable projects, electric vehicles and green tableware, which are all in line with international trends in environmental protection and the environmental policies and economic strategies of the Central Government and the Macao SAR Government. By identifying current trends and needs in the environmental sector, these themed business matching sessions have precisely connected environmental technologies and products and supply chains, assisted participants in finding suitable partners, and established a platform for interaction and dialogue, thus contributing to their exploration of international markets, in particular Mainland China, Portuguese-speaking countries and Southeast Asia.

Five themed business matching sessions to bridge supply and demand in the green market

During the 2023MIECF, a total of 398 Green Matching sessions were held, marking a 13% increase from 2019. These sessions made it easier for exhibitors from various countries and regions, such as Mainland China, Portuguese-speaking countries, Hong Kong and Macao, to find green co-operation opportunities, and some of them even signed co-operation agreements during the event. The effects of themed business matching sessions have been highly recognised.

The 2024MIECF will once again arrange five themed business matching sessions to support the green development and transformation of the “1+4” key industries, including integrated tourism and leisure, big health, and green technology.

Hosted by the Macao SAR Government, the 2024MIECF will take place from 28 to 30 March (Thursday to Saturday). Dedicated to the theme of “Reaching the Dual Carbon Goals through Green Transformation”, it will continue to serve as a green platform in accordance with the “1+4” appropriate diversification development strategy.
