The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as the “Response and Coordination Centre”) states that over 590,000 appointments have been made for the mass nucleic acid test (hereinafter referred to as the “NAT”) from 9 pm on 4 October to 12 pm today (6 October). As the mass nucleic acid testing programme is strived to be mostly completed within 48 hours, the Response and Coordination Centre urges residents to make the appointment as soon as possible and take the test at the station according to the scheduled time, so that mass NAT results can be obtained as soon as possible.

For the convenience of the public, from now on, residents can go to general stations with a waiting time of less than 15 minutes to take the test without prior appointment. Residents are requested to pay attention to the information on actual waiting time at the stations before leaving home. The requirement for prior appointment remains unchanged at the 3 self-paid stations.

All people staying in Macao are required to participate in the third mass NAT, and there is no exemption period for testing. People who have just received the Covid-19 vaccine can only take the test 24 hours after receiving the vaccine. There are 41 nucleic acid testing stations in Macao, including 31 general stations, 3 self-paid stations and 7 caring stations. All stations are opened 24 hours a day. Among them, 7 caring stations are available for “children under 3 years old, the elderly aged 70 or above, pregnant women, people with disability certificate or those who are mobility impaired” to take the test without prior appointment.

The Response and Coordination Centre reminds residents to bring their identity documents and present their personal reservation code at the testing station. They are reminded that reservation codes cannot be shared or lent to others so as to maintain order at the testing stations.
