A photo of 5 police officers of the Public Security Police Force and outsourced cleaners from the Municipal Bureau wearing protective clothing was uploaded on a social media platform.  The Judiciary Police (PJ) noticed a comment claiming those in the photos had contracted the virus, and it was later verified by PJ as untrue.  Its content is suspected to have breached Article 26 of Law no. 11/2020.  The Judiciary Police will investigate the incident according to law.  Anyone who disseminates false information like the one mentioned earlier may face criminal charges.

The Judiciary Police appeals to the public not to fabricate or disseminate false information with the intention to create panic or unease especially during public emergency.  Offenders could be made criminally liable for his/her action and be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment term of 3 years.

The Judiciary Police urges members of the public to stay abreast of official information and not to believe in hearsay.
