The 27th issue of Books and the City, published by the Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is now available to the public. Themed “Entrepreneurial Wealth”, this issue of Books and the City shares suggestions and tips based on the experiences of renowned writer in the respective area and a local pioneering entrepreneurial team, as well as examples of success in the transformation of old stores. In addition, it introduces several practical books from the collections of the Macao Public Library of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, allowing the public to gain knowledge on wealth creation from multiple perspectives.

In this issue, the “Library Portrait” column features an interview with the curator of small-sized themed book fairs, sharing how to utilize interesting themes to connect different types of collections and present them to the public in the form of small-sized themed book fairs; the section “Library Handbook” highlights how the “induction loop kit system” enables the hearing-impaired to use library services; the section “Library Wonder Why” answers questions about “Self Service Holds Pick-up Locker” and introduces the convenience of this library service; the section “Author’s Say” features an interview with local author Esther Chan, who is in charge of the design, writing, photography and binding of her book entitled I Am Designing My Life; the section “New Launch” introduces a rich variety of new arrivals, including books, movies, music and magazines. In addition, this issue also features 10 briefs yet insightful book reviews in Chinese, Portuguese and English.

A total of 3,000 copies of Books and the City are available free of charge at all branch libraries under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, tertiary education institutions, Tap Seac Gallery, and several bookstores as well as cultural and art spaces in Macao. The past 26 issues are also available on the Macao Public Library website at www.library.gov.mo.
