The second review of the “2018 Support Programme for the Production of Feature Films”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), was completed and a total of four entrants were selected. Each selected candidate will receive a subsidy of up to MOP2,000,000 for the production, marketing and promotion of the selected film projects.
The “2018 Support Programme for the Production of the Feature Films” aims to continuously promote the development of the Macao film industry, cultivate local filmmaking talent and provide opportunities for local filmmakers to produce feature films, thereby encouraging local filmmakers to get involved in feature film productions and enhancing the professional production capacity of the local film industry. A total of 12 applications were received this year. Following the initial and second reviews, the adjudicating panel selected four eligible candidates and their film projects: I Want to be a Plastic Chair by Ao Ieong Weng Fong, Dreaming Girl by Vong Tin Leong, The Lucky Corner by Wong Teng Teng and One Night in Macao by Lou Ka Hou.
The adjudicating panel included Hong Kong film director and screenwriter, Chiu Liang Ching; General Manager of Taiwan’s Swallow Wings Films Co. Ltd., Yao Ching-Yu; and Managing Director of the Activator Marketing Company, Steve Wang.
