As 1st October National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays are approaching, consumption by citizens are expected to increase, so are the number of inbound tourists. Consumer Council held a meeting earlier with Economic Services Bureau (DSE), Macao Government Tourist Office (DST), Transport Bureau (DSAT), Judiciary Police (PJ), Public Security Police Force (PSP), Macao Custom Service, Civic and Municipal Affairs Council (IACM), Health Bureau (SS), and Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) to discuss on the protection of consumer rights for local citizens as well as inbound tourists.
Consumers are advised to acquire more information on the products or services, and to keep the invoice or contact to safeguard their own rights. Consumer Council reminds consumers and tourists that if anyone finds his or her consumer rights being infringed, he or she should file a complaint at the Council or other departments and provide all necessary detailed information.
Hotline service (8988-9315) will be available during the National Day holiday period from 30th September to 3rd October, and on 5th October, which is the day following the Mid-Autumn Festival, from 9AM to 6PM daily, for receiving consumers’ complaints and enquiries. Further, the Council’s WhatsApp Hotline 62980886 will also be available to consumers to report on any business malpractices.
