The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, said in Beijing today that Macao would consolidate its position as a global tourism and leisure hub and strengthen co-operation with Hong Kong and Guangdong, as stated in the work report by Premier Mr Wen Jiabao earlier.
Speaking to the press at the conclusion of his visit to Beijing, Mr Chui said he had met the the Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Committee, Mr Wang Yang, the Governor of Guangdong, Mr Huang Huahua, and the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, Mr Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, over these few days in the capital.
Mr Chui said that Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao would strive to implement the Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta (2008-2020). Officials would meet again this year to further enhance co-operation.
Speaking about the upcoming Policy Address, Mr Chui said the Government would spare no efforts in maintaining the general stability in Macao and enhance support for the less priviledged.
Mr Chui is scheduled to return to Macao tomorrow.
