Chief Executive Mr Chui Sai On said today the Government attached much importance to social work, especially to the under-priviledged.
He was speaking during a visit to a family receiving allowances, as well as five social services organisations, which provided services to senior residents and disadvantaged people such as physically or mentally disabled people.
Mr Chui listened to the opinions of the workers and members of these organisations and learned about their needs.
Mr Chui said that the Government would attach special attention to social work and the under-privileged, and would continue to support these organisations.
He said that his team of officials was preparing the Policy Address since assumed office, as the address was scheduled to be delivered at the Legislative Assembly in March.
The Government would continue to listen to public opinions on different aspects of administration, Mr Chui said.
Also with Mr Chui on the visits were the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Mr Cheong U, the Chief of Office of the Office of the Chief Executive, Mr Alexis Tam Chon Weng, the Director of Social Welfare Bureau, Mr Ip Peng Kin, and the Deputy Director of Government Information Bureau, Ms Ho Wai Heng.
