PCR tests results had shown that the two patients isolated recently, had not contracted SARS, announced the Health Bureau in a press release today (May 6).
The two patients were a 54-year-old man and an 42-year-old Australian man respectively,The bureau stated that the body temperature of the Australian had returned to normal, and both of them were recovering from illness.
Meanwhile, the other three patients, including a saleswoman and two men, 52 and 77 year-old respectively, were in fine condition and would be discharged in the near future, declared the Health Bureau.
On the other hand, over 28,000 people had gone through infrared thermal body temperature screening at five checkpoints in the 24 hours prior to 16:00 today, respectively 19,969 at the Border Gate, 6,961 at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, 514 at the Macao International Airport, 846 at the Lotus Bridge Checkpoint.
During this period, doctors in the consultation posts at the checkpoints had answered 5 inquiries. Meanwhile, 3 patients had been directed to the special emergency room in the Conde S. Januario Hospital, though none of them were sent to the isolation ward.
As for the Ká-Hó Port, Coloane, 248 people had their body temperature checked during 7:00-10:00 today.
