The Chief Executive, Edmund Ho today (19 Mar.) in Beijing met with President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao respectively.
President Hu told the Chief Executive during their meeting in the morning that he was glad for the significant achievement of Macao SAR since its establishment.
President Hu affirmed the Central Government’s confident in Edmund Ho, saying that under the leadership of Edmund Ho and his Government, the solidarity and the united effort of the Macao residents would definitely contribute to the development of Macao SAR and the country.
Later in the afternoon, Premier Wen Jiabao praised Edmund Ho’s performance during their meeting.
He said that Macao’s economic development is remarkable, adding that the positive growth recorded continuously is a sign of stable development.
Premier Wen remarked that Macao was in a good position, as the direction toward an economic development headed by the gaming industry is cleared.
He also supports the development of a closer relation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
The president and the Premier had both expressed their wish to visit Macao.
During the meetings, the state leaders had affirmed that the Central Government’s policy about the two SAR would remain unchanged, and would continue to support the development of Macao SAR, according to Edmund Ho.
