In the “China Continental - Taiwan - Macau - Fine Food Show 2013”, IPIM conducted a total of 51 business matching sessions and concluded 3 product agent intentions and procurement contracts. This year, the four concurrent events join hands to promote interaction and create synergy effects to attract customers, enabling Macao residents and tourists to experience the vibrant and lively atmosphere of these events and bringing together the elements of shopping, leisure, wedding celebration and entertainment in Macao.
Guangdong and Macao exhibitors report booming sales and prepare for participation next year
On the last day of the fair, many residents grasped the last chance to shop their favourite products at lower price. Many exhibitors posted catch-lines such as “buy one get one free” and “clearance sale” to attract patrons while some of the exhibitors expressed that their sales are very satisfactory and all stocks were sold out in the morning. A Mainland exhibitor Mr. Chen who sells bedding accessories said that their sales achieved their desired results and their brand has been known by many people and the selling price here is 40% cheaper than the store's selling price, so their stocks were sold like hot cakes. He further told that they brought 40 boxes of stocks and they were almost sold out during noon time and only a few pillows were left. He said that the best gain from this event is that a Macao hotel approached him and expected that they can sign long-term co-operation agreement in the future. A local exhibitor Mrs. Yu who sells frozen food said that this is the third year she has participated in the event and the types of their products for sale are more than the previous year and their sales are also better year-on-year. She continued saying that they had to refill their stocks everyday to meet the demand and this year they sold over 20,000 frozen chickens.
Moreover, a local company selling Portuguese foodstuffs told that this is the first year they participated in the event and their anticipated result has been achieved while their products also received active response. In addition, all of their stocks, including cherry wine, port wine, and olive oil, have been sold out quickly and during the event, some Mainland and Hong Kong buyers approached them for business negotiation. Thus, they planned to take part in the event next year. Another local company participating in the event for the second year said that they established their own brand several years ago and invented and produced various Macao-Portuguese canned food which claims to have no preservatives, mono-sodium glutamate and food additives. They hoped to promote Macao's cultural features via their fine food and make it one of the souvenirs in Macao. The person in charge noted that as they do not have many sales points at present, they wish to promote their brand via this event. He further noted that they received noticeable results in last year's fair and some returning patrons came to their booth to buy their canned food and sauce.
