Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Ao Man-long stressed that the government understands the necessity to attract more airlines to come to Macau besides establishing new air services agreements.
Macau SAR government signed Air Services Agreement on 15 Nov. with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Ao Man Long, who represent Macau SAR to sign the agreement, stated that the agreement marks the thirty-first air services agreement into which Macau enters with a foreign country and is taking Macau one step further towards strengthening of its ties with the rest of the world in air transport.
Ao stressed that to attract more airlines to come to Macau, as well as reinforcing Macau¡¦s position as one of the hubs of air passenger and freight services in the Region, fostering the developments of air passenger and freight service industry and of other related industries of Macau. is a priority for Macau economic to reap greater material benefits.
The powerful economic dynamics together with the comprehensive transportation newtowrk of the Pearl River Delta served well as the bedrock for the development of the Macau air service industry, Ao said.
Ao pointed out that the Macau SAR government will continue to devote efforts to establish new ties in the area of air services with more countries, to attract more airlines from Mainland and from the rest of the world to come to Macau and to seek for opening more destinations to Macau air service markets.
Riaz H. Khokhar, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the People¡¦s Republic of China signed the Air Services Agreement on behalf of the Pakistan government. Chief Executive, Edmund Ho witnessed the Signing Ceremony.
