The front block and gardens of the Government Headquarters will be opened to the public on 22 and 23 June from 09:00-18:00. People may take photos and walk through the mansion and gardens.
This is the second year in a row that the Government Headquarters have been opened to the public. During Open Days, the Security Police Band and the Chinese Orchestra of Macao will perform two shows in the morning and in the afternoon. (Please see the concert schedule below.)
Moreover, 160 pots of lotus flowers will be displayed throughout the rooms and gardens. More than 40 species of lotus flowers have been provided by the General Office for Civil Affairs and the Macao Lotus Flower Arts Association.
Special arrangements will be made to accommodate the traffic during Open Days and drivers are advised to follow the directions given by police officers. Visitors should enter from the Travessa do Paiva to the front block of the Headquarters.
Souvenir covers will be available for sale at a special counter in front of the Headquarters. Hand-back service will be provided to commemorate this special occasion.
Located on Avenida Praia Grande, the Macao SAR Government Headquarters cover an area of 7,700 square meters, comprised of three buildings with a total floor area of 10,000 square meters.
The front block of the Headquarters (formerly Government Palace) is a two-story mansion where the Chief Executive and the Secretaries receive guests and hold various official functions. The ground floor of the building accommodates the conference room of the Executive Council, the Lotus Room, a multi-purpose conference room and a pressroom. The first floor accommodates the offices of the Chief Executive, the Green Room, the Yellow Room and the Blue Room, as well as the secretariat of the Executive Council.
