The Secretary for Administration and Justice, Florinda Chan, today (20 June) presided over the swearing in ceremony of the Director, Jose Chu, and Sub-Director, Ieong Kim I, of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau held at Government Headquarters.
Ms. Chan said that the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, under the leadership of the new directors, would further modernize the public administration and would improve the quality of civil servants.
Ms. Chan also encouraged the new directors and the staff of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau to enhance communication inside the Bureau and with other government departments, adding that "serving the citizens with the greatest effort" should be one of their main objectives.
The new director, Jose Chu, said in his speech that the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau would attend to the requests of the citizens with devotion, and would continue to train civil servants so as to build an efficient team.
Jose Chu, who graduated from the University of Macau with a Bachelors degree in Law, has been working as a civil servant in public administration since 1967.
Ieong Kim I, who graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, joined the civil service in 1987.
