Co-organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) of the Macao SAR Government and Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, the “Macao Craft Market @ Foshan Lingnan Tiandi” is held from 22 to 24 September at Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, featuring 50 cultural and creative brands from Macao and Mainland China as well as a number of music performances. All are welcome to participate.

The “Macao Craft Market @ Foshan Lingnan Tiandi” is held from 2pm to 10pm, starting from today for three consecutive days. IC has organised the participation of nearly 40  cultural and creative brands from Macao, displaying and selling a wide range of cultural and creative products, including clothing and accessories, knitted fabrics, handmade pottery and original illustrations. In addition, eight groups of Macao singers and bands were invited to perform in the event, creating an artistic and cultural ambience for residents in Foshan in the weekend.

The opening ceremony was held today (22 September) and was officiated by the Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Cheang Kai Meng; the Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of Association of Oversea Neighbourhood in Foshan and Director of the Municipal Overseas Community Affairs Bureau, Gu Nan; the Deputy Secretary of the Foshan Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and President of the Foshan Youth Federation, Chen Ying; the Director of the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Chancheng District of Foshan Municipality, Liu Fang; the Director of the Department of Publicity, Culture, Sports and Tourism of Zumiao Street of Chancheng District of Foshan Municipality, Quan Qiuping; and the Deputy General Manager of Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, Feng Zhisheng.

The Tap Siac Craft Market is a cultural and creative project developed under the “Culture and Tourism Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”. This year, IC has actively organised the participation of Macao’s cultural and creative brands in the market of the Greater Bay Area. Followed by the organisation of Macao’s cultural and creative industries to participate in the market in the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin and Guangzhou, IC invited Macao’s cultural and creative practitioners to participate in the market in Foshan through an open call this time, aimed at further enhancing the popularity of Macao’s cultural and creative brands and expanding sales channels in the Greater Bay Area. The event is held at Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, which is adjacent to Foshan Ancestral Temple, covering 22 cultural relics with a total of more than 100 buildings. As the largest historic and cultural district in Foshan with cultural relics in high density and well-preserved traditional features, Foshan Lingnan Tiandi has become one of the most popular cultural tourism and leisure destinations for tourists in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
