Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is going to unveil an “Experience Macao Unlimited” Mega Roadshow in Seoul, Korea on Friday (14 July) for four days in a row, after hosting the “Macao•Korea Travel Trade Networking Seminar” this Thursday (13 July). A delegation of Macao’s travel trade will follow the Office’s lead to Korea for the Seminar, which together with the Roadshow, are set to familiarize Korean residents and tourism businesses with the destination’s fascinating offers and new elements of “tourism +”, in pursuit of international visitor markets.
Create Moment of Macao with colorful elements
The “Experience Macao Unlimited” Mega Roadshow will take place at Times Square in Seoul for four consecutive days since 14 July. Themed around board game as the design concept, the roadshow incorporates Macao’s tourism elements into the key visual. The distinctive exhibit space is centered around the logo “MOMA”, meaning “Moment of Macao”. Visitors can enjoy interactive games and visit the booths for a glimpse of tourism facilities, new elements and special offers on various tourism products presented by Macao’s six integrated resort enterprises in joint effort to tap the Korean visitor market.
Brand the destination with visually-stunning mega advertisements
In tandem with the mega roadshow, the commercial “Experience Macao Unlimited•See you in Macao” is projected upon the Giant Art Canvas LED screen located behind the front entrance of Times Square, to raise Macao’s profile in Korea. Advertisements are also played in a loop at the giant outdoor double-sided screen along Olympic-daero, the busiest highway in Korea, to capture residents and visitors’ attention on the way between Gimpo International Airport and the downtown of Seoul for destination branding.
Reach potential family visitors through Korean variety show
MGTO’s representative in Korea partners with Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) in producing two episodes on Macao as a great destination on “Talk Pawon 25 o’clock”, a popular travel and variety show in Korea. Renowned Korean comedian Kim Sook was invited to Macao for the filming. “Talk Pawon 25 o’clock” is a local travel and variety show that offers family audiences a vibrant picture of fun and trendy travel experiences. The first episode about Macao was released yesterday (10 July), to be followed by the second episode on 17 July. The content revolves around family travel to Macao such as family and water fun attractions, unique restaurants and other trendy information. The productions highlight Macao as a world centre of tourism and leisure and boost Koreans’ intention to visit Macao.
In 2019, Macao registered over 740,000 visitor arrivals from Korea, which ranked as the largest international visitor market to Macao. With the successive return of flights between Macao and Korea, MGTO seizes the opportunity and steps up a variety of marketing efforts to welcome Korean visitors, including launch of air ticket deals between Macao and Korea in partnership with airlines. The Office also makes strenuous efforts to organize familiarization visits to Macao for Korean travel trade, influencers and media to experience a variety of colorful “tourism +” elements. The endeavors are made to spark Koreans’ interest in Macao as a preferred destination and expand the diversity of international source markets for tourism and economic revival.
