Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 3rd “Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, featured in the programme of the 3rd “Encounter in Macao - Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, will be inaugurated in November, showcasing the diverse manifestations and the cutting-edge development of contemporary visual arts in China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and offering the public a new experience of Chinese and Portuguese arts.
The “Annual Arts Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” features two thematic exhibitions, namely “Embrace of Diversity” and “Symbiosis”. The exhibition “Embrace of Diversity” features 17 artists from eight Portuguese-speaking countries and regions, including Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, and East Timor, presenting a total of 36 pieces/sets of contemporary artworks including paintings, installations, photographs, sculptures and videos, showcasing the unique artistic charm of Portuguese-speaking countries. The exhibition “Symbiosis” features 5 Macao artists and 5 artists from the Greater Bay Area, presenting 45 pieces/sets of creations in various media and forms, including oil painting, acrylic painting, ink on paper, photographs, computer imaging interactive installation, electric installation, three-dimensional sculpture installation, LED light and mirror installation, as well as performing art installation, exploring the subtle cultural and artistic links between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.
The exhibition “Embrace of Diversity” will be held from 6 November to 31 December 2021, at the Macao Contemporary Art Center – Navy Yard No. 1 (located at Rua de S. Tiago da Barra); the exhibition “Symbiosis” will be held from 11 November to 31 December 2021, at the Tap Seac Gallery (located at No. 95, Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida). Both exhibition venues are open from 10am to 7pm, including on public holidays. Admission is free. The Cultural Affairs Bureau will strictly follow the relevant anti-epidemic guidelines of the Health Bureau and implement appropriate measures for cultural activities.
