To further promote Macao Highlight Tours tailored for visitors and the local tours under the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project in order to foster community tourism as an enhancer for tourism revival, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has specially set up information counters at six local hotels and integrated resorts in Macao. The counters officially came into operation today (1 August). Visitors and residents can enquire relevant information and sign up for the tours conveniently at the counters. Deputy Director of MGTO, Ricky Hoi, also paid an inspection visit to the six information counters.
Visitors can conveniently sign up for tours at the counters
The six information counters are set up at the following locations: Grande Praça of MGM Macau, Business Center of Wynn Palace, Lobby of Studio City, Lobby of Grand Lisboa, ground floor (near Tastes of Asia) of Galaxy Macau and West Lobby of the Venetian Macao. The opening hours are 10:00 — 13:00 and 14:00 — 19:00 daily. Tended by counter staff with relevant work experience in tourism, visitors and residents are welcome to enquire local travel information including the prices, departure dates and itinerary details of Macao Highlight Tours and the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” local tours. They can also sign up for the tours at the counters.
By setting up the information counters, MGTO seeks to further promote the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” local tours and Macao Highlight Tours, in order to attract visitors to local communities for profound travel and spending, in turn reviving Macao’s tourism industry and economy.
“Stay, Dine and See Macao” project spur rises in domestic demand
As part of the “2021 Scheme for Employment Security, Economic Stabilization and Care for Residents’ Livelihood” launched by the Macao SAR Government in March 2021, the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project encompasses local tours and hotel staycations for residents’ experience. Running from this April until the end of December 2021, the project aims to support the local travel trade while providing an initiative for residents to enjoy local dining, sightseeing and hotel staycation economically. The project is expected to spur rises in domestic demand and spending in communities, leading to further revival of the tourism and related industries. Up to 31 July, a total of 32,961 participants have embarked upon the local tours, and a total of 44,497 overnight guests have enjoyed the local hotel packages.
Experience “Tourism+” through Macao Highlight Tours
Encouraged by MGTO to optimize and offer innovative tour products, Macao’s travel trade launched Macao Highlight Tours targeting visitor markets this May, the fruition of their active planning to design in-depth itineraries catering to visitors’ demands. The Tours are tailored for visitors to experience Macao’s profound history, cultural landscape and “tourism+” elements. The fascinating themed itineraries include “Amazing one-day tour with ‘MAK MAK’” and “Private helicopter charter ride”. Tour participants can enjoy interactive communication and relish different highlights offered by the Tours.
