Cultural Affairs Bureau announces list of selected candidates of the 8th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making

In order to continue to promote the development of the fashion design industry in Macao, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has launched the “8th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”. The review process has been completed, and eight candidates have been selected. The Cultural Affairs Bureau will provide each of the selected candidates with a grant of up to MOP170,000 for the production and promotion of the respective fashion design samples.

A total of 27 applications were received for the “8th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”, and after the initial and second reviews, the adjudicating panel eventually selected eight projects. The selected candidates are (in arbitrary order): Cordova Celestino Maria, Ding Zhen, Wong Man I, Wong Ha, Leong Man Teng, Choi Nga Teng, Chan Nga Leong and Lai Ka Pou.

The adjudicating panel was composed by the Deputy Director-General of the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre, Victoria Alexa Kuan Chan; the member of the Committee of Cultural Industries and Vice President of the Industrial Association of Macau, José Tang Kuan Meng; and by the Macao veteran fashion designer, Robert Lai.
