The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents To the Moon, a tender tale for kids and their families to be staged this Easter in three shows at CCM’s Small Auditorium, from the 2nd to the 4th of April (Friday to Sunday).
Brought by the Shanghai Children’s Art Theatre in collaboration with Spanish company Voilá Producciones, To the Moon displays a powerful combination of drama and animation. Cynthia Miranda directs the Chinese cast that gives shape to a magical story, filled with tenderness, fantasy and stage effects. Floating between stage acting and a projected world on set, the performance tells the story of Tara, a young girl who finds in imagination and fantasy a way of dealing with the loss of her dearest grandfather. The original Spanish version of this touching adventure has visited numerous venues across the world, from the Off Festival in Avignon to other cities like Paris and Buenos Aires. This ground-breaking family show has now been adapted by the Shanghai Children’s Art Theatre, a company that is currently China’s largest professional producer of artistic entertainment and performances for the younger audiences.
To the Moon will be staged in three shows performed in Mandarin with Chinese and English surtitles, scheduled from 2 to 4 April (Friday to Sunday) at the Small Auditorium. Tickets will be available from 31 January (Sunday) at CCM’s box office and Macao Ticketing Network outlets. Given the current epidemic situation, patrons will be required to wear a mask, present their health declaration and have their temperature monitored.
