2019PLPEX assisted PSC companies in exploring business opportunities in Mainland China
Alves Monteiro, Representative of Shanna, a Cape Verdean clothing brand, mentioned that last year a number of suppliers from Mainland China brought their own fabrics and brochures to her company’s booth for business pairing. After joining PLPEX, products using high-quality textile and materials imported from contributed 50% of the company’s business volume. According to Alves, PLPEX provided a platform to reach suppliers of low-cost and high-quality products. Although she hoped to come to China and communicate with suppliers in person to conduct business, she could only stay up-to-date with PLPEX online this year due to the epidemic, and she hoped to keep in touch with textile suppliers of bath towels, bed linen fabrics and other materials. According to her, the company would increase production lines to manufacture medical uniforms, masks and disposable medical gowns, and start production this year. She looked forward to finding more partners and suppliers through the PLPEX platform.
Local enterprises leveraged the PLPEX platform to find good markets
Ms Ng, Assistant to the CEO of Quinta da Marmeleira, a newly founded wine producer, said that her company started red wine production last year, and its first participation in the PLPEX last year yielded satisfying results. At the 2019PLPEX, the company received a large number of orders from Mainland China, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Southeast Asia and Macao, further enriching the company’s sales channels and increasing brand coverage. This year, the company will continue to attend the exhibition and leverage the platform to explore business opportunities.
Mr Lei, Director of Dah Chong Hong Food Supermarket, has attended the PLPEX many times. Since its first participation in the exhibition, the company has continuously expanded business scope to provide Portuguese jerky, dried foods, ceramics, and Brazilian cinnamon in addition to premium branded Portuguese food and specialty products, which has diversified the local food market. Last year, the company meticulously prepared representative Portuguese red clay ceramics, traditional Portuguese handicrafts and refreshments for the exhibition. Mr Lei said that the atmosphere of on-site business negotiations was lively, and the he was surprised by the number of visitors and potential opportunities. The company signed an agreement with Casa Angola International, a Portuguese partner company, on the export of Portuguese red wine to Mainland China, which helped red wine brands open the mainland market for promotion and sales. This year, he looked forward to co-operate with more mainland enterprises.
