To further promote the application of official statistics, the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) launched the “Statistical Geographic Information System” website today (30 September), which facilitates convenient and fast access to geospatial statistics. Currently, the system provides data on residential units in Macao by age of building, high- and low-rise buildings, and occupancy status of unit.
The “Statistical Geographic Information System” interface is simple and easy to use. Users may obtain information on residential units of a single building or a building cluster by selecting (by point, line or polygon) a specific area on the digital map. Besides, users may also find information on residential units based on search criteria such as name of street or building, statistical district, etc. DSEC will continue to improve and enrich the statistical data on the system with the aim of providing detailed and comprehensive geographically related information to members of the community.
The “Statistical Geographic Information System” website, which is available in traditional and simplified Chinese, Portuguese and English, can be accessed through the DSEC website ( www.dsec.gov.mo ) or directly at www.dsec.gov.mo/gis/unidade.
