In 2017, Macao was designated as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Macanese cuisine stands out for its uniqueness and for its respective culinary skills, and is part of the city’s invaluable intangible cultural heritage, also playing an active role in  Macao's sustainable development. In order to preserve and promote Macanese cuisine, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has launched the program “International Call for Macanese Cuisine Recipes” today, which aims to enrich the “Macanese Cuisine Database” that is being established by the SAR Government for the future, and to help facilitate further studies and consolidate records about culinary arts.

The program is dedicated to collect digital recipes or manuscripts related to the Macanese cuisine. The gathered data will be kept in the “Macanese Cuisine Database”, which is open to the public, and will be used for the research and promotion of Macanese gastronomy. The program was launched today and is open to the general public.

For more information about the program, please refer to the thematic website of the “International Call for Macanese Cuisine Recipes” at www.icm.gov.mo/mcrecipes. The relevant submission and declaration forms can also be downloaded from the website. For further enquiries, please contact IC through the telephone numbers 8590 4320 or 8590 4321, during office hours.
