The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, has today congratulated those who will act as principal officials and one as Public Prosecutor-General in order to serve in the fifth-term Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) following their appointment by the State Council.

In accordance with the Basic Law of the Macao SAR, the State Council today announced the appointments, which were based on nominations from the fifth-term Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng.

In his statement, Mr Chui said he hoped the new appointees would strive to perform to the best of their capability and – under the leadership of Mr Ho Iat Seng – serve the country and serve Macao in a spirit of unity and innovation. The combination of such qualities would make fresh contributions to the progress of Macao’s development and to the steady implementation of “One country, two systems” in Macao, he added.

The fifth-term Government will be inaugurated on 20 December 2019.
