“Photo-Scripts – Photography Exhibition by João Miguel Barros”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be inaugurated on 12 April (Friday) at 6:30pm at the Macao Contemporary Art Centre – Navy Yard No.1. The exhibition showcases 12 black-and-white photos/sets by João Miguel Barros. All are welcome to visit.

Both an artist and a lawyer, João Miguel Barros has been dividing his life and work between Macao and Lisbon for over 30 years, during the course of which he has formed a unique perspective about the world and art. His works capture multiple contexts of objectiveness, logic, sense and emotion.

The exhibits are organised in 12 individual short stories, which share a mutual connection with each other. Aluminium composite frames have been chosen to display the photos, in order to grant the works a deeper sense of artistic expression. The images will be presented next to textual narratives so that the two elements are mutually complementary. The photos, often themselves a past memory or self-reflection of the artist, inspire observers and entice them to explore their own philosophy of life.

“Photo-Scripts – Photography Exhibition by João Miguel Barros” will be held from 13 April to 2 June at the Macao Contemporary Art Centre - Navy Yard No.1, open from 10am to 7pm daily including on public holidays (except on Monday). Admission is free. For more information regarding the exhibition, please call IC through tel. 8988 4000 during office hours.
