Published by the Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Reading Map of Macao 2018 has been released in Chinese-Portuguese and Chinese-English bilingual editions. The map features cultural routes linking different World Heritage sites, aiming to promote Macao’s distinctive reading venues close by residents and tourists.

The Reading Map of Macao 2018 is divided in two parts: a map and a booklet. In its cover the map marks all branch libraries, reading rooms and film archive under the Culture Affairs Bureau, and at the back it shows five cultural routes, including two World Heritage routes, a local commuities route, a Taipa route and a Coloane route, allowing readers not only to learn stories behind the featured libraries but also to appreciate the beauty of Macao World Heritage sites.

The booklet includes information of the libraries of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and the higher education  institutions of Macao, as well as the Octagonal Pavilion Library, the Caritas Library and certain local bookstores. The booklet serves as a guide for the public to use the libraries’ resources and services and encourages them to experience the cultural atmosphere of Macao from a reading perspective.

The print run of the Reading Map of Macao 2018 is of 25,000 copies and the free map is available at the libraries of the Cultural Affairs Bureau. For enquiries, please contact the Macao Public Library through tel. no. 2893 0077, during office hours.
