The “26th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival” was held from 13 to 16 September at Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, where Macao film Our Seventeen, was screened in its session “Hong Kong and Macao Film Showcase”. The Macao delegation to the Film Festival included representative of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Chong Siu Pang; the Secretary General of the Macao Film and Television Association (MFTA), Cai Xiao Zhen; the Secretary of Macao Media Advancement Association, Chan Pui Nan; and the actor and actress of the film Our Seventeen, Sean Pang and Kylamary.

Our Seventeen by Macao film director Emily Chan, is a film about Macao stories, which narrates the inner struggles of young people while growing up. The film is also a love letter to their youth, written as they went through tremendous changes during that time.

The film was screened during the session “Hong Kong and Macao Film Showcase” of the Festival, allowing participants and the local audience in Inner Mongolia to get to know about Macao film culture. It received an enthusiastic response from the public. Distinguished guests who attended the screening session included the Vice President of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference from Hohhot in Inner Mongolia, Yin Xian; the Chairman of the China Film Association, Li Xuejian; and the Chairman of the Federation of Motion Film Producers of Hong Kong, Crucindo Hung Cho Sing, among others.

The “Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival”, one of the four most prominent film festivals in China, is the festival with the longest history in the country. During the event, the Macao delegation also exchanged views on the latest information of the industry with representatives of film industries across the world.
