The 4th IAACA Annual Conference and General Meeting, hosted by IAACA (International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities), in collaboration with the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of PRC and the Public Prosecutions Office of MSAR, will be held in Macau on 2 to 5 November (4 days). The Chief Executive of MSAR, Fernando Chui Sai On, the Prosecutor-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, Cao Jianming, the President of IAACA, Jia Chunwang, the United Nations General Secretary’s representative, Dimitri Vlassis, the President of IAP, James Hamilton, and the Prosecutor-General of MSAR, Ho Chio Meng will be presiding the opening ceremony.
The IAACA, founded in Beijing in 2006, is the first international anti-corruption association with members of anti-corruption institutions from all over the world. It aims to promote efficiency in the application of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. Since its foundation, the IAACA has successfully hosted 3 annual conferences and general meetings in Beijing, Indonesia and Ukraine, respectively. It has made important contributions to the implementation of the referred United Nations Convention, the making of criminal laws in different countries to fight corruption and to the strengthening of direct cooperation amongst anti-corruption institutions of different countries. The efforts of IAACA have been widely recognised by the international community.
The topic of this conference in Macau is “United Nations Convention Against Corruption - Chapter IV: International Cooperation.” Law enforcement institutions related to the combat against corruption from 143 countries and regions and more than 600 representatives, specialists, scholars from more than 10 international anti-corruption organizations will be participating in this meeting in Macau to discuss and study important issues concerning international cooperation on the combat against corruption, such as extradition, transfer of convicted persons, mutual legal assistance, law enforcement cooperation and joint investigation.
The conference will be held at Grand Hyatt Macau. High ranking officials from the Macau Government, magistrates and personalities from the judicial circle and related associations representatives will also be participating in this event.
