To test the effectiveness of the Heliport Emergency Plan and assess the capacity of the search and rescue personnel in responding to contingencies, the annual emergency safety exercise, which was planned in the beginning of this year, will be carried out at the heliport of the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal at 23:30 on 20 July 2010.

The exercise will simulate the scenario of an accident encountered by a helicopter upon landing at the helipad. All responsible parties will activate the respective contingency procedures. Participants will include Customs Services, Public Security Police Force, Fire Services Bureau, Maritime Administration, Civil Aviation Authority, East Asia Airlines, Sociedade do Turismo e Diversoes de Macau and so on.
