Ten government bodies took the opportunity of 2009 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2009 MIECF) to show their efforts in bringing a cleaner and greener environment to Macao in the past decade.
Visitors would be able to learn Macao’s green policies and measures in the areas of transportation, energy, infrastructure, ecology and tourism at the booths of the ten public bodies at Macao Pavilion, which was right behind the entrance of the exhibition hall of 2009 MIECF at the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel.
The ten public bodies were Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Environment Council, Establishing a Water Conservation Society Working Group, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Transport Bureau, Macao Economic Services, Macau Government Tourist Office, Maritime Administration, Office for the Development of the Energy Sector, the University of Macau and Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center.
A video about Macao’s efforts in greening the city and striving for sustainable development in the past ten years would also be shown to visitors.
Environment Council presents their works including the Green Hotel Award, the Establishing a Water Conservation Society Working Group presents advocate their goal and plans while Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau showed its work in urban greening.
The University of Macau exhibited its contribution to various environmental-friendly projects. Office for the Development of the Energy Sector showed the future planning for adopting natural gas and solar energy.
Transport Bureau displayed the ambition of building a greener transportation network, such as the introduction of light rail system in the future, while Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center exhibited a shirt made from plastic bottle and a shirt that helps lower body temperature.
Except the booths of the government bodies, those of Macao Chamber of Commerce, Macau Importers & Exporters Association, Macau Association of Banks and some organisations were also situated at the Macao Pavilion.
