A Dutch student put under isolation had been discharged from hospital today afternoon (April 29) after 7 days of treatment, announced the Health Bureau.

The requirement for those contacted with him to be isolated was also lifted at the same time, notified the bureau.

PCR test proved that the patient have suffered from common pneumonia and not SARS although he remained in isolation until full recovery.

As for the two patients staying in the isolation unit in hospital, the bureau asserted that they had no fever and were recovering in stable condition.

On the other hand, Official of Health Bureau said the bureau had received a false report today claiming that a Taiwanese man travelling in Macao was infected with SARS. However, doctors in Conde S. Januario Hospital found that the man had no symptoms of SARS and had released him from the hospital after checking.

The bureau had notified Public Security Police to investigate the incident, according to the press release.

Over 15,000 people have had their temperature taken at four checkpoints in the 24 hours prior to 16:00 today, respectively 7,437 at the Border Gate, 6,466 at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, 734 at the Macau International Airport and 967 at the Lotus Bridge Checkpoint.

During this period, doctors in the consultation posts at the checkpoints had answered sixteen inquiries and one person was sent to hospital for consultation. Meanwhile, seven patients were directed to the special emergency room in the Conde S. Januario Hospital, though none of them were sent to the isolation ward.
