The Consultative Committee of the Macao Orchestra, which held its first meeting on 12 July, decided to rename the Macao Chamber Orchestra the Macao Orchestra after the expansion.

The president of the Consultative Committee, Victor Ng, the Director of the Cultural Institute and the members attended the first meeting.

During the meeting, the members also discussed the objectives and the future development of the Macao Orchestra.

The Macao Orchestra was set up in accordance with cultural policies to enrich the life of Macao's citizens.
