Macao and Cambodia to reinforce cooperation in tourism

The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Chui Sai On, met the Minister for Tourism of Cambodia, Veng Sereyvuth, on 1 June in Macao.

Tourism and cooperation were the major issues discussed in the meeting.

Mr. Veng Sereyvuth put a positive spin on the future of tourism hoping for links and further cooperation with Macao. He invited Mr. Chui and officials of the Macao Government Tourist Office for a visit to his country.

Secretary Chui underlined government policy for culture and sports in order to develop Macao as a convention and exhibition center in the region and to search for new markets in Southeast Asia.

The meeting proceeded on 2 June. Both sides agreed on strengthening cooperation in culture and tourism development as well as joining forces in tourism training.

While in Macao, the Minister for Tourism of Cambodia visited several major cultural and tourist places such as the Macao Tower.
