Chief Executive and his delegation met with Vice-President of the European Parliament today (20) to brief on recent development of Macau after the establishment of the SAR.
Chief Executive, Edmund Ho, accompanied by the President of the Legislative Assembly, Susana Chou and the his 13-members delegation, met with Vice-President of European Parliament, Colon Naval during a visited the European Parliament Building in Brussels.
Two other members of the commission for the relations with China of the European Parliament also presented at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Chief Executive reaffirmed to Mr. Naval on the SAR's will to support the E.U. in establishing study institutions in the SAR.
Ms. Chou gave an introduction on the history of the Legislative Assembly during the meeting. She also talked about the first Legislative Assembly Election in September and the concerns of the Macau people over this election.
Meanwhile, the Macau delegation briefed the representatives of the European Parliament on various issues concerning Macau such as economy, higher education, interests of the Portuguese community and the liberalization of gaming industry were also discussed in the meeting.
The circulation of Euro as a hard currency was also discussed in the meeting.
