"Through the first visit to Macau Legislative Assembly, it is a good start for the two SARs' legislative councils to strengthen the contact and to maintain a good working relationship," Hong Kong Legislative Council President Rita Fan Hsu-Lai-tai expressed.
Mrs. Fan with a 11-member Legislative Council delegation today (2nd) paid an official visit to Macau at the invitation of Susana Chou, president of Legislative Assembly of Macau. During the visit, the delegation was toured the Macau Legislative Assembly Building before a working luncheon with the local legislators.
Afterwards, the delegation met with Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau-wah at the Headquarters. Mrs. Fan revealed that they had discussed issues concerning tax for gaming, departure/; franchise contract for gaming/; the future business development in Macau/; impacts to Macau after China accesses to World Trade Organization and the cooperation in the joint promotion of tourism.
The Legislative Assembly Building locates on the Praia Grande Bay with a total area of 13,878 square meters. The new building which opened in 1999 consists four floors with rooms for meetings, journalists, files, audio-visual, library, etc.
