Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture expressed condolences to the deceased in the Guia Race warm-up accident

Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macau SAR Government, Chui Sai On, expressed his heartfelt condolences today to the family of the deceased who was suffered from the accident that happened during the Guia Race warm-up this morning.

Chui stressed that the Guia Circuit had been inspected and approved by the FIA, adding that the Organizing Committee of the Macau Grand Prix had conducted a thorough study on the accident.

He said that details of the accident would be announced as soon as the technical report was completed.

Chui said that he was deeply grieved to the accident and compensations for the deceased and the injured would be made in accordance with the regulations, adding that further assistance would given to the families to the deceased and the injured.

Chui, two members of Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee Cheong Vai Kei and Lou Keng Chio, paid a visit to the widows of the deceased at the hospital in the afternoon.

He said the SAR Government would help family members of the victim come to Macau and handle the funeral affairs.

He stressed that the hospital would give the best treatment to the injured so that they could be recovered soon.
