  • This year’s Lusofonia Festival covers two weekend periods: 24 to 26 October inclusive and 31 October to 2 November inclusive, at the Taipa Houses. It is a celebration of music and dance, games, gastronomy, and the cultures of various Portuguese-speaking countries and regions. The festival is a chance for members of the public to experience the diverse charm of Lusophone cultures.

  • This 28th edition of the Lusofonia Festival focuses on Angolan culture as well showcasing characteristic cultural elements of other Portuguese-speaking countries and places.

  • Across an aggregate six days, the festival features culture-related exhibitors from 10 Portuguese-speaking communities represented in the Macao population. They are from respectively: Angola; Brazil; Cape Verde; Guinea Bissau; Mozambique; Portugal; São Tomé and Príncipe; East Timor; Goa, Daman and Diu; and the local Macanese community. Overall, they are presenting music, handicrafts, traditional costumes, gastronomy, and tourism-related information.

  • The festival has become a signature Macao event. It underscores the city’s multicultural atmosphere, and the Portuguese-speaking communities’ role in helping Macao to be a cultural exchange hub.
