  • The 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Road Cycling Race and test event for the 15th National Games, was successfully held on 24 November.

  • The race passed through three regions – Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao – via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It represented a full-process test for the men's individual road cycling event of the 15th National Games, to be held in November 2025.

  • The test event involved 23 cycling teams and 67 cyclists from respectively, the mainland, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), and Macao SAR.

  • The cyclists set off from Zhuhai, for intense competition along a route covering approximately 230 kilometres. The Macao section is about 13.5 kilometres in length.

  • Cyclists faced rain showers during the Macao section. Although the roads are slippery, cyclists gave their best in terms of performance.

  • Through this test race, cyclists can gain better understanding of the course to be used for the National Games, and prepare relevant tactics.

  • The men’s individual road cycling event at the National Games 2025 will be the first time the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has been used as a race route to link the three sides. It will be the only event at the 15th National Games to traverse the three regions.

  • The test event enables a comprehensive inspection of the competition route, along with testing of customs clearance. It also examines the ability of the three regions that will host the actual race – Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao – to collaborate on operational matters, as well as testing the emergency response capabilities of the three places.

  • Through this test event, further optimisations can be made to various preparatory work, including competition organisation, security measures, traffic management, medical rescue, and volunteer services.
