  • Starting from today, eligible residents of Hong Kong and Macao can use QR code from the mobile application, without the need to present ID document, to complete the automated immigration clearance. The new measure brings further convenience to residents from both SARs.

  • Under the new measure, Macao residents aged 11 or above holding a Macao permanent ID who have successfully registered for using the automated immigration clearance service in Hong Kong are eligible for the service. They need to first bind an electronic identity at the Macao One Account platform. Before crossing the boundary, generate a QR code via “My Border Crossing” of the Macao One Account and use e-Channels to enter Hong Kong.
