The 2024 Macao International Parade was held on Sunday, 24 March, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland. The parade was a great success, and its wonderful scenes will remain in the hearts of the many people who witnessed it.

The latest Macao International Parade – the first in four years – was held in collaboration with Macao’s six integrated tourism and leisure enterprises, making this year’s event especially meaningful.

This year’s Parade features over 1,800 performers from an aggregate of 80 local and international arts groups. The Parade is always a grand event, and the atmosphere lively.

The artists pass along old streets and sometimes down alleys, interacting at close range with the crowds, and helping the bystanders to immerse themselves in the heady atmosphere of a performing arts spectacle.

The performers – through activities influenced by their cultures and artistic traditions – are living reminders of the charm of exchanges and mutual learning between different cultures, and of the vitality of Macao as a “City of Performing Arts”.

The clear weather and the backdrop of historical architecture add a wonderful ambience to the parade.

The performers mass at the Sai Van Lake Square in the evening and jointly present the finale performance – a closing ceremony showcasing cultural integration.

The Macao International Parade marked this year its 10th edition, the first having been held in 2011. It has become a signature festive event of Macao.
